Strawberry Hill Christmas Tree Farm, nestled on the historic Old Oregon Trail, began in 1977 when the Walther family planted their first 500 trees. They offer more than just a tree-picking experience, there are numerous activities to get you in the festive spirit!
From holiday music to hayrides through the scenic farm, you can really make a day of it. Their shop offers wreaths, crafts, and gifts, and don’t miss out on the spiced cider and their signature “black & white” cookies.
Your selected tree undergoes a thorough preparation process. It’s placed on the “shaker” to remove old, dry needles, ensuring that fewer of them end up on your living room floor.
2. Fulk’s Tree Farm
Season begins the Friday after Thanksgiving. For the following weeks, their hours are Tuesday – Friday 12:00pm – 5:00pm, Saturday – Sunday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Platte City, Missouri
Established in 1889, Fulk’s Tree Farm is in its sixth generation. Visitors can select their Christmas tree from a wide range of Scotch and White pines available for cutting, as well as pre-cut Frasier, Douglas, and Balsam fir trees.
To enhance the festive spirit, the farm offers free hot chocolate, candy canes, and coloring books – as well as a place to write a letter to Santa and leave it in their Santa Mailbox!
For convenience, saws are provided free of charge.
The heated tree barn houses a Christmas Shop where guests can purchase handmade fresh pine wreaths, garland, and holiday gifts.
3. Fort Osage Farm
November 16th – December 8th
They are mostly open Friday through Sunday but will be open Wednesday, December 4th and Thursday, December 5th.
Independence, Missouri
The family-owned Fort Osage Farm has been providing Christmas trees to the Kansas City area for over 20 years.
The farm offers a choice of cut-your-own Christmas trees or pre-harvested varieties. Tagged trees in the field include White Pine, Norway Spruce, Red Pine, Austrian White Pine, Virginia Pine, Lobb Lolly Pitch Pine, Ponderosa Pine, and Cypress, priced at $14 per foot.
They also have a collection of pre-harvested fir trees, such as Canaan Fir and Fraser Fir, which are noted for their heartiness and rich green needles. They provide specifically engineered bow saws for cutting trees.
They offer free hot chocolate as well as a market full of holiday cheer in their White Pine Lodge.

4. Christmas Ranch Trees
Season begins November 29th, open Friday – Monday from 9:00am – 5:00pm
Excelsior Springs, Missouri
Located on a 40-acre farm purchased in 1982, Christmas Ranch Tree Farm has grown to include 25 acres of Scotch and White Pines, as well as Blue Spruce, Norway Spruce, and Canaan Fir.
The staff will carry your tree from the field and handle all the post-cutting processes, which includes shaking out dead needles, bailing the tree, and loading it onto your vehicle.
Visitors will find hot chocolate, hot cider, coffee, and cookies in the festively decorated barn, where you can also browse handmade wreaths, centerpieces, and ornaments.

The farm prides itself on providing a personalized experience, with some staff members working there for nearly two decades.
5. Bierman’s Christmas Tree Farm
Season begins November 29th, open weekends 9:00am – 5:00pm
Kansas City, Kansas
Bierman’s Christmas Trees offers sleigh rides for $2.50 per person as well as a heated barn with a charming gift shop, including fresh wreaths and garland, along with hot chocolate.
For your tree, choose from a range of options: Scotch, Austrian, and White Pines up to 10 feet, either choose & cut or pre-cut. The selection extends to Frasier Firs, Balsam Firs, and Canaan Firs, towering up to 15 feet tall.
Just need a tree? They are doing a soft opening on November 23rd and 24th where they won’t have any activities available, but you can purchase a tree.

6. Midland Holiday Pines
Season begins November 29th open weekends 10:00am – 5:00pm
Shawnee, Kansas
Midland Holiday Pines, a family-owned Christmas tree farm, has been operating since 2002.
Visitors can choose from a variety of trees, including Scotch, Virginia, and White Pines grown on the farm, as well as specialty trees like Fraser and Balsam Firs. Trees range in height from 6 to 21 feet, with most in the field between 7 to 10 feet. For inventory information, call (913) 631-5095.
The farm also offers a selection of wreaths and greens, and a gift shop with decorations, ornaments, cards, and other seasonal items.
Visitors can purchase hot chocolate mix and candy cane packets, and the farm ensures a safe and convenient experience with services like tree shaking, netting, and assistance in securing the tree to cars.
7. Evening Star Pines
Season begins November 29th, open weekends 9:00am – 5:00pm
Eudora, Kansas
Evening Star Pines in Eudora, KS, offers a classic Christmas tree experience, providing a “you choose, we cut” service for various tree types including Scotch Pine, White Pine, and White Spruce.
For convenience, they provide tree shaking, netting, and assistance with tying down your tree. Payment is by cash or check only.
8. Reindeer Lane
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after Thanksgiving; 9:00am – 4:30pm
Trimble, Missouri
Reindeer Lane offers a “Country Christmas” experience. Visitors can select from Eastern White Pine or Canaan Fir Christmas trees.
The farm provides a cozy setting with its large wood stove-warmed sales barn, offering refreshments like fresh popped popcorn and hot chocolate.
Santa is available for family or individual photos. Open for only three days after Thanksgiving, they accept cash, checks, and cards, and also sell pecan candies, tree stands, wreaths, and other Christmas items.
Services like tree shaking, drilling, bailing, and tying the tree to your vehicle are complimentary with the purchase of a tree.
